Auto Assessments - Bank Details
- 15 July 2024
- Individuals Tax
- IAC - The Professional
SARS will issue auto-assessments from 1 July 2024 to taxpayers whose tax affairs are less complicated. If the taxpayer is in agreement with the auto-assessment, then there is no need to ‘accept’ the
assessment. If a refund is due to the taxpayer, it will automatically be paid into the taxpayer’s bank account.
It is therefore crucial for taxpayers to check that SARS have the correct bank details. The bank details can be checked by logging into the person’s efiling profile and following the following steps.
Home > SARS Registered Details > Maintain SARS Registered Details > My Bank Accounts
If the bank details are incorrect or changed, it can be edited while still on the “My Bank Accounts” screen. Remember to click on “Done” and “Submit” once the details have been updated.
