Carryn Alexander
Carryn Alexander is a Partner in the Tax Practice based in Cape Town, specialising in tax dispute resolution and comprehensive tax advisory services for multinational enterprises and industries across Africa.
She has extensive experience in litigating and resolving complex tax disputes involving corporate income tax, transfer pricing, mining taxes, and indirect taxes, including VAT and customs duties. Carryn also advises clients on cross-border transactions and customs valuation matters.
Throughout her career, she has advised major industry players and multinational groups on tax audits, dispute resolution, transfer pricing, customs valuation, as well as the tax and exchange control implications of cryptocurrency transactions. She also assists organisations in developing tax frameworks to effectively manage complex corporate tax risks.
Carryn holds an LLM in Tax Law from the University of Cape Town, as well as an LLB and a B.Com (Law) from the University of the Western Cape. She was recognised as a Leading Individual in Tax Law by Best Lawyers 2026 and has published numerous articles on a range of tax law topics.
