Ms Fundiswa Ngqeleni

Acting Senior Manager: Operations

Fundiswa has over ten years of experience in the legal field, having worked at various legal institutions. She joined the Office of the Tax Ombud in October 2015 as a Specialist in Legal Services, where she provides legal services to organisations. Additionally, she conducts presentations on complex tax issues and OTO services. Prior to her role at the OTO, she served as a Legal Adviser at the South African Revenue Service (SARS) for four years, from 2011.

Ngqeleni’s career trajectory is a testament to her adaptability and professional growth. She spent two years at Legal Aid, the institution where she completed her articles and was admitted as an attorney. Her career began as a claims handler at Scorpion Legal Protection, where she later advanced to the role of cost consultant. In 2007, she took the next step in her career by joining Mutual and Federal as a claims negotiator.

Ngqeleni’s academic achievements reflect her commitment to learning and professional development. She holds an LLB from Walter Sisulu University, a Higher Diploma in Tax Law from the University of Johannesburg, and a Diploma in International Tax Law, also from the University of Johannesburg. Her dedication to learning is further demonstrated by her Business Rescue Certificate from the University of South Africa (Pretoria), a Certificate in South African Customs Compliance with the Skills Development Specialists, and a Certificate in Programme for Management Development (PMD) from the Gordon Institute of Business Science at the University of Pretoria (GIBS). Additionally, she recently completed her board exams for Company Secretary at CGISA, with the Work Experience Module pending, due for submission in April 2025.
