Overview
South Africa’s Tax Ombud, Judge Bernard Ngoepe, published South Africa's first Compilation of Taxpayers' Rights, Entitlements and Obligations, a collection of principles emanating from various sources, including the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa and the Tax Administration Act.
This practical recording will cover the most pressing issues experienced by tax professionals when assisting clients to deal with enforcing taxpayers’ rights and entitlements , including:
- Important fundamental obligations as a taxpayer and fiscal citizenship.
- Fundamental principles relating to taxpayers’ rights.
- The entitlement of taxpayers to complain without fear of victimization.
- The right to access to information in a fair, unbiased and just tax system.
- Standard of quality and timely service from SARS.
- Tax practitioners’ right to make certain requests, proposals, or applications to SARS.
