Making Sense of the 2024 Budget: A Tax Perspective

Overview

“Tax revenues are expected to increase to R2.1 trillion, or 25.1% of GDP, by 2026/27. Revenue collection, however, is projected to fall short of 2023 Budget estimates by R121.4 billion between 2024/25 and 2025/26, with tax buoyancies generally lower over the medium term”. This according to Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana’s medium-term budget policy statement presented last year November.

What does this mean for you and your clients? Will ordinary taxpayers be footing the bill for this deficit and if so, how does the Ministry plan on doing this?

Join economic and tax experts, Dawie Roodt and Prof Jackie Arendse for a in-depth analysis of the announcements and developments presented by the Finance Minister. This video is crucial to any tax and accounting professional looking to gain deeper understanding of the changes in practical terms.
