Two separate tax returns have been completed and the taxpayers keep getting a message regarding lump-sums. Is there another problem with the lump-sum processing by SARS? The taxpayers will check with the fund and their employers if there are any discrepancies. Herewith the message received from SARS "Please note that SARS will not process the return. There is a finalised tax directive processed but no lump sum amount is declared on the return. Please contact the Fund administrator/Employer to rectify the error and submit the rectified return".

It is recommended that you approach SARS to request the details of any directives processed on the relevant taxpayers' records during the 2020 year of assessment. Once you have obtained the relevant directive details you have to approach the funds/employers for the relevant IRP5/IT3 (a) certificates to be captured on the ITR 12 returns.
