For every accounting professional, the burning question revolved around whether their firm needed to be registered as an accountable institution with the Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC) and which of their clients were subject to the Customer Due Diligence (CDD) process.

We held a webinar where we provided guidance to help you determine whether you should have registered your firm or not.

If your firm was accountable, it was crucial to register with the FIC without delay.

Even if your firm was not accountable, you had to be able to demonstrate how you evaluated all your activities to conclude that your firm was not accountable.

Lynette Badehorst

Lynette Badenhorst is a qualified Chartered Accountant (SA) with extensive expertise in auditing, taxation, and legislation. She holds a BCom Honours degree from the University of the Free State and has pursued further qualifications including a Master's Degree in Domestic Tax and International Tax, as well as certificates in Tax, Forensic and Investigative Auditing. Lynette began her career at PROS Training, later becoming Financial Director and shareholder at ProBeta Accountancy Development (Pty) Ltd. Currently, she serves as Managing Director and shareholder of ProBeta Training (Pty) Ltd. Lynette is highly regarded for her lectures at prestigious institutions and international auditing update courses. She has developed compliance toolkits for accounting professionals and authored a widely-used tax guide.
