SARS audits are unavoidable.

Overview

SARS audits are unavoidable. You’ll have to deal with them.In this webinar, Nico Theron provided valuable insights on how to handle SARS audits. Too often, miscommunication between taxpayers and SARS led to unnecessary additional assessments. This miscommunication could be avoided if the purpose of the audit and SARS’ requests were truly understood, and the correct mindset was adopted.

Webinar Content

Nico touched on taxpayers’ rights during an audit and how infringements of these rights could be addressed. The fact that SARS could and indeed must conduct audits did not mean the taxpayer was completely vulnerable and simply at the mercy of the auditor.

Competencies developed in this webinar

After attending this webinar, you should be able to:

  • Identify what SARS was asking of the taxpayer.
  • Understand how to respond to queries to avoid unnecessary additional assessments.
  • Understand taxpayers’ rights during an audit and how to address breaches of those rights.
