Overview

This webinar will be presented in two parts. The first part discusses a practical approach to deal with expat tax at SARS, with the focus on foreign employment earnings of South African residents. We will discuss relevant aspects to the SARS requirements as well as the implications of South African tax when submitting an income return to SARS.

During the second part of this webinar, we will deal with the cessation of tax residency and the process to facilitate a change in resident status through SARS efficiently. We will discuss the SARS requirements for becoming a non-resident and the resulting capital gain effect thereof. Potential pitfalls and suggested work-arounds will be highlighted, based on practical experience gained over the last couple of years.

Roné Loubser

Roné joined the FinGlobal team in May 2015. She holds a BCompt degree in Financial Accounting and completed her Professional Certificate in International Tax during 2021. She has previously worked for Villet Pitzer as a Senior Bookkeeper for 3 years and thereafter expanded her knowledge in Double Tax Agreements for the past 7 years. Roné leads the FinGlobal tax team, specialising in the cessation of South African tax residency.

  • Delegates who book and fail to attend will be liable for the full event fee.
