Tax professionals and accountants play a crucial role as moral agents in society, actively promoting core values like honesty and accountability. The trustworthiness of tax returns, compilation of financial statements, and the effectiveness of audits are significantly impacted by the professionals' integrity, objectivity, and dedication invested in their work. It is essential for us, as professionals, to be driven by the right things and cultivate appropriate mindsets to excel in our responsibilities.
This two part series offers tax and accounting professionals an opportunity to engage with Thuli Madonsela and contemplate what it means to remain ethical and act as moral agents in society.
Prof Thuli Madonsela, former Public Protector, will lead the discussion during the first series. In the second part of the series Caryn will look at practical scenarios where professionals may be confronted with ethical dilemmas.
