Administration of Deceased Estates

Overview

While we know that two things in life are certain, death and taxes, managing the administrative complexities of a deceased estate leaves many of us feeling uncertain. As noted by philosopher Ralph Waldo Emerson, knowledge is the antidote to fear or uncertainty.

Join Carmen Westermeyer as she provides a practical, easy-to-follow overview of the processes and responsibilities related to the administration of a deceased estate, with particular attention given to the latest big developments in case law surrounding the meaning of the word “spouse”. We’ll also look at alleviating frustrations like where to find information to get the process started, as well as where and how to file returns correctly. Make sure you’re not following outdated procedures now that online service offerings have been made available by the Master’s Office.

Upskill yourself by delving into the requirements outlined in the Administration of Estate Act, the Wills Act, and the Intestate Succession Act. By the end of this webinar, you will be able to answer the question that many of us ask ourselves: Where do I start when I need to deal with a deceased estate?
