Date: Jul 22, 2026

CPD hours: 1 Hour

Time: 15:00 - 16:00

Event Type: Webinar

Presenter: Bernice Houy

Learn how to seamlessly connect your onboarding, billing, and compliance into a central digital hub without disrupting your client relationships or rebuilding your firm from scratch. Say goodbye to time leakage and human error, and hello to an efficient, POPIA-compliant, and modernized workflow.

Overview

The session addressed the modern shift in the accounting and tax profession toward operational efficiency. It focused on helping South African firms transition from fragmented, manual systems (which risked time leakage and missed deadlines) to a connected, digital practice. Using real-world scenarios, it covered platform selection, workflow integration, and practical digital transitions without disrupting client relationships.

Webinar Content

The webinar content was structured into the following key sections:

  • The state of the SA accounting practice today: Discussed the hidden costs of manual processes (time leakage, human error, compliance risks) and common pain points such as missed CIPC deadlines and double-capturing.
  • What digital integration means: Dispelled myths about overhauling everything or replacing teams, explaining the difference between digitising a process and integrating a workflow across onboarding, compliance, billing, and reporting.
  • Building a connected practice: Explored how leading accounting platforms connect to a central hub, touching on CIPC compliance automation (annual returns, beneficial ownership) and tax administration workflows.
  • Making the switch (Migration Roadmap): Provided a practical phased transition guide, covering staff and client buy-in, avoiding common failure points, and maintaining current client operations.
  • Q&A and practical takeaways: Included a live Q&A session, a practice-readiness quick-reference checklist, and next-step resources.
