CPD hours: 1.5 Hours

Time: 09:00 - 10:30

Event Type: Webinar

This practical session equipped tax professionals with essential tools for the 2025 Filing Season. It covered personal income tax, trusts, IT3 reporting, and provisional tax, focusing on eFiling readiness, resolving data mismatches, managing auto-assessments, and understanding SARS’s trust transparency requirements.

Overview

In the 2025 regulatory landscape—where accuracy, transparency, and digital competence were essential—this practical session equipped tax professionals to approach the Filing Season with clarity and confidence.

The session provided key insights into SARS requirements for personal income tax, trust submissions, IT3(t) reporting, and provisional tax. It focused on real-world application, including correcting IRP5 and directive mismatches, updating third-party data, and managing auto-assessments effectively.

Participants gained practical strategies for pre-submission readiness, such as updating registered particulars, verifying bank details, appointing registered representatives, and activating relevant tax types (including IT3) on eFiling.

The session also clarified the trust reporting process, distinguishing “Submitting Entity” from “Reporting Entity” and offering guidance on completing IT3-01 and IT3-02 forms.

Additionally, participants explored the SARS Online Query System (SOQS) as a tool for handling administrative tasks beyond eFiling. From pre-filing preparation to data corrections and trust compliance, the session provided a comprehensive, practical framework to optimise filing season performance.
