SUMMARY:Transfer Pricing and Customs Valuation: Managing Risk and Alignment in Related Party Cross-Border Goods Transactions
DESCRIPTION:The webinar examined the interplay between transfer pricing and customs valuation in related-party cross-border goods transactions\, where the same intercompany price had to satisfy two regimes with different objectives and timing. Practitioners were taken through transfer pricing fundamentals\, including the arm’s length principle\, Article 9 of the OECD Model Tax Convention and method selection\, and the six customs valuation methods under section 66. The session addressed the price-influence test\, the limits of transfer pricing documentation for customs purposes\, year-end adjustments\, entity characterisation\, key case law\, audit evidence and value determinations.
